Though Trenz Embedded is newly formed, its leadership draws on over 20 years of hands-on collaboration with Trenz modules. That deep technical heritage and shared commitment to innovation continue to shape everything we do.
Liz Bertram
President
Elisabeth Felina Bertram founded Trenz Embedded with a clear mission: to bring the trusted engineering excellence of Trenz modules closer to North American clients. As a founding member of the original German team, she was instrumental in launching the company’s first FPGA modules—laying the groundwork for a generation of embedded applications.
After moving to the U.S. in 2007, Liz led initiatives across multiple industries before rejoining the Trenz family in 2025. She’s a serial entrepreneur with a strong technical core and a talent for turning complex challenges into elegant, impactful solutions. Her background spans software engineering, HDL design, consumer electronics manufacturing, quantitative analysis, and business administration.
Tom Shaar
Director of Sales
As Trenz Embedded’s director of sales, Tom Shaar brings a wealth of experience in engineering leadership and client engagement. Formerly Director of Global Engineering at Arrow Electronics, he spearheaded cross-functional initiatives and drove strategic growth across international markets.
With a background rooted in technical innovation, business development, and global operations, Tom plays a pivotal role in expanding Trenz Embedded’s reach in North America. His collaborative style and deep industry acumen ensure that every customer receives expert guidance and tailored solutions.
